Originating in the courts of Renaissance Italy in the 15th century, Ballet developed primarily in France, Russia and England, accompanied by classical music.

It is one of the world’s most influential dance styles, with a highly technical form and its own vocabulary. Known for its graceful, fluid, beautiful and light movements, Ballet is extremely demanding and difficult to master, requiring considerable dedication and many hours of practice.

Learning and practising Ballet gradually improves balance and posture, enabling students to perform movements with increasing skill and agility. It develops musical awareness, stimulates creativity and exercises cognitive skills through the memorisation of sequences and Ballet’s basic vocabulary.

A typical Ballet class consists of a warm-up, technical exercises at the barre and/or in the centre, followed by travelling combinations.

There is no upper age limit for Ballet classes. Anyone can attend Ballet I, whether to improve their flexibility, develop their knowledge or simply relieve stress.

Good posture, harmony, graceful movement and lightness, combined with Ballet’s distinctive technical precision, are essential elements of classical dance. Ballet provides a strong and important foundation that supports many different forms of expression in the world of dance.
