Curso Intensivo "New York Summer Intensive"
De 26 de Junho a 7 de Julho venha experimentar um curso intensivo de dança como se estivesse em Nova Iorque sem sair de Portugal! Vais dançar e suar durante 6 horas com 2 professoras que fizeram carreira em Nova Iorque e tiveram trajectórias incríveis com companhias de dança de re-nome internacional com sede em Manhattan e como coreógrafas!
Venha aprender excertos de coreografia de grandes Mestres da Dança Moderna Americana! Venha crescer artisticamente e expressivamente como
bailarin@, venha trabalhar a técnica de dança clássica e contemporânea, ambas essenciais hoje em dia em audições para qualquer companhia de dança!
Cada dia começará com uma aula de Ballet seguida por uma aula de dança contemporânea americana moderna que irá melhorar o seu uso da
suspensão, do espaço e as transições entre os movimentos. Depois de uma pausa para o almoço (ou para ir dar um mergulho á praia!), usaremos as novas habilidades técnicas para dominar desafios coreográficos de Grandes Mestres como Paul Taylor, Lar Lubovitch entre outros e terminaremos o dia alongando os nossos corpos doridos com Vinyasa Yoga Flow ou uma Prática Somática baseada na técnica "Trager Approach/Psychophysical Integration" e "Alexander Technique".
Semana de 26 a 30 de Junho e semana de 3 a 7 de Julho.
Idade mínima - 14 anos com pelo menos 1 ano de experiência em Clássico e/ou Contemporâneo.

Wallie Wolfgruber has enjoyed a distinguished directing, teaching, choreographic, and performing career. She was a principal dancer with the Lar
Lubovitch Dance Company, toured internationally, and has also worked with a variety of other choreographers including Ohad Naharin, Donald Byrd, Rod Rogers, Keith Young, Sung Soo Ahn, and Jessica Iwanson. Ms. Wolfgruber’s choreography has been presented internationally and in New York City at the Abrons Arts Center, La Mama E.T.C., the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and with DanceNow at the Joyce Soho, Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, the Duke on 42nd Street and Dance Theater Workshop. Since joining the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, State University of New York, in July 2010 and serving as director through June 2014, she has brought a wealth of experience in the studio, on stage, and behind the scenes to the program. Her international work includes commissions from Frontier Danceland and NAFA in Singapore. Ms. Wolfgruber holds an MFA in dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her directing and teaching experience includes being undergraduate program director and associate professor in the dance department at SUNY Brockport; co- founder and director of SEAD in Austria; and faculty member at Florida State University, Rutgers University, Manhattanville College, and the Mark Morris Dance Center. Her teaching expertise encompasses ballet, contemporary technique, composition, and improvisation, and is influenced by her studies in somatic practices such as the Trager Approach which she was certified in in 1996. She travelled to Africa, researched Maasai dances, and taught and performed in orphanages in remote, rural areas in Kenya. Her interests include collaborations with composers and video artists. Her video dance, A Hands-On Affair, was created in collaboration with Alvin Booth and selected for the Dance On Camera Festival in Los Angeles and New York City. She established her company Wallie Wolfgruber & Dancers in 2008. Her ongoing project, Sacred Things, currently includes the dance works Dream Support and Ingress, a series of photographs and an earth installation.
Silvia Nevjinsky had a professional contemporary/modern dance career for more than 25 years, being a formal member of dance companies such as the Lisbon Dance Company (4 & half years), the David Storey Dance Works (2 years), the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company (4 & half years) and lastly, the Paul Taylor Dance Company (10 years). With these companies, she has performed all over the USA as well as in 38 countries in the world (North and LaOn America, Asia,South east Asia, New Zealand and Europe) and danced works by Rui Horta, Ana Macara, Patrice Soriero,Marc Bogaerts, David Parsons, Monica Levy, Paulo Ribeiro, Clara AndermaV, Vera Mantero, Cesar Muniz, Mark Haim, Igal Perry, David Storey, Cecilia Marta, Vera Huff, Ben Harkavy, Patrick Corbin, Lar Lubovitch and Paul Taylor.
She appeared as a guest artist with several other dance companies such as the Empire State Ballet, the Eglevsky Ballet, the New American Ballet Ensemble, Ballet for Young Audiences, Cecilia Marta’s Project 1990 and the Downtown Ballet Company.
Addicionally, she was on the cover of Time Magazine on March 8th 1999 and appeared in several music videos, industrials and special events including the Walt Disney Premiere of “Pocahontas” in Central Park, viewed by 50 000 people. She can be seen in “Dancemaker”, an Oscar nominated documentary directed by MaVhew Diamond as well as in two “Dance in America” PBS specials featuring the Paul Taylor Dance Company, “Acts of Ardor” and “A Wrecker’s Ball”.
As a dance teacher, Ms.Nevjinsky has taught Master classes at Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon, at Skidmore College, at the Newark Academy in New Jersey, at the American Dance Festival in Durham and at Ballet da Cidade in San Paulo. She has taught dance workshops in New York (Steps Studio, Paul Taylor Summer & Winter Intensives, Akjun Ballet Intensive), at the St.Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, in Lisbon (CEM, Forum Dança, Lisbon Dance Conservatory,) Oporto, Vila Nova de Gaia,Vila do Conde, Almada, Toulouse and Antwerp. She has taught modern dance to students in the New York City Public Schools for the City Center Outreach Program, at the Summer Arts Institute (as a guest of American Ballet Theatre), at the LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, at the Lyceum Kennedy School, and at the Paul Taylor Dance Company School in New York. Addicionally she has taught warm up classes for professional dancers on tour ( Paul Taylor Dance Company & Quorum Ballet) as well as ballet classes to Almada Dance Company & Kamu Ballet and contemporary dance to CêDêCê Dance Company.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Dance from Hunter College of New York and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Hollins University in Roanoke,VA in collaboration with American Dance Festival. She is also a 200 hours Certified Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher registered with the Yoga Alliance and an Egoscue Method Posture Analysis Specialist.
